Shaping Cyber Law Experts: Insights into the LL.M. Program from the Perspectives of Students

Turin, Italy -

In the latest session of the online Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity, and International Law, 46 students (21 of whom participated in person) engaged in crucial two-weeks workshops held in a hybrid format. This segment took place at the United Nations in Turin, featuring intensive hybrid training on combating complex cybercrimes, with specific case studies on online counterfeiting, child sexual abuse online, and a comparative analysis of national security strategies with a focus on cybersecurity in healthcare.

The LL.M. program is offered by UNICRI and the University for Peace (UPEACE) in partnership with the CSSC, a joint research center of the University of Trento and the University of Verona. Designed for university graduates and professionals, the program cultivates interdisciplinary law experts skilled in analyzing, preventing, investigating, and countering cybercrime to safeguard communities, institutions, and businesses.

Training spans across various disciplines related to law and cybersecurity, including criminology, social sciences, victimology, psychology, economics, organizational sciences, and computer science. Participants acquire a deep understanding of cybercrime trends, perpetrator and victim profiles, the latest intelligence operations, and the innovative methods and analytical tools necessary for ongoing adaptation and response to the challenges of cybercrime.

We invited students from the recent session to share their motivations for choosing this specialized training, the value it has provided, and their most intriguing subjects. Their feedback is crucial not only to us but also to prospective students of the upcoming LL.M. edition. It highlights the program's standout features and demonstrates how advanced knowledge and skills are vital in nurturing a new generation of capable professionals ready to tackle the escalating challenges of the digital world.

Applications for the 2024/25 edition of the LL.M. are now open until 8 September. Discover more and apply here.
